Why a radiant cut for yellow
The radiant is the cut that produces vivid yellow more reliably than any other. Its deep pavilion and brilliant faceting send light back and forth inside the stone before releasing it, and every extra pass through the crystal deepens the color the eye receives. A shallow cut would show the same rough as a paler stone. Yellow gold at the band continues the color off the stone and onto the hand rather than framing it in contrast.
Reading the numbers
Fancy Vivid is the highest saturation grade, above Fancy Intense and Fancy. VVS2 puts clarity beyond a question at this size.
